Loans granted by banks’ foreign currency deposit units (FCDUs) plunged to $16.7 billion as of end-2020, according to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

In a statement on Wednesday night, the central bank said the latest amount was lower $614 million or by 3.6 percent from the end-September 2020 level of $17.3 billion “as principal repayments exceeded disbursements.”
