MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato: The African swine fever, which has infected pig livestock and wreaked havoc on Region 12’s hog-raising industry, is now under control as confirmed by Arlan Mangelen, Department of Agriculture (DA)-12 regional director.
According to Mangelen, the infection, in fact, was contained three months ago and the government has already indemnified the hog raisers who were severely affected by the swine flu in the municipalities of Magpet, President Roxas, Arakan and Kidapawan City in North Cotabato province and Glan and Alabel in Sarangani province.
