Trade association Philippine Tobacco Institute (PTI) said it stands firm on its call for the reasonable cost of cigarette tax stamps as concerned agencies are scheduled to meet today (Monday) to discuss the matter.

In a statement over the weekend, PTI said the Bureau of Internal Revenue, APO Production Unit Inc. and the tobacco industry will meet today to address the planned increase by 8 centavos in the cost of each cigarette tax stamp, which the group tagged as excessive.
