When you hear the name Ritt Momney, you can’t help but relate it to American politician Mitt Romney. So, what’s with the music name?

“There’s not much inspiration behind it honestly. Ritt Momney started as a band with some of my friends and I in high school. Mitt Romney is a big guy in Utah and he is pretty popular there where I live. It was just a stupid little [moment where we decided] ‘Let’s call it Ritt Momney.’ Then, it just stuck from there, so [there’s] not much of a story behind it,” Jack Rutter, the man behind the Salt Lake City-based music project said in a Zoom interview with Music Geek.
