Environmentalists and student groups on Friday are seeking a congressional inquiry on claims that China has been exploiting resource-rich areas in different parts of the country for its illegal reclamation and construction activities in the Kalayaan Group of Islands in the West Philippine Sea.

The Leyte-based Homonhon Environmental Rescuers Organization (Hero), KALikha UP Diliman and UP College of Arts and Letters Freshies, Shiftees and Transferees Council were one in pressing for a congressional inquiry over China’s unlawful aggression in the West Philippine Sea.
