Better education needed on vaccines

THE news on Thursday that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had ordered a temporary halt to the use of the AstraZeneca AZD1222 vaccine was most alarming, not because the decision was questionable — it was certainly correct from a medical perspective — but because of the impact the news is likely to have on the already distressingly negative Filipino sentiments toward vaccines.
