WHAT did the two-week “lockdown” of the “NCR-Plus” (Metro Manila and the adjacent provinces of Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite) actually achieve?

Although the government feebly tried to justify its latest failed experiment by highlighting data from OCTA Research that the coronavirus reproduction rate (R) in Metro Manila had decreased from about 1.98 to 1.3, and that it had been able to add about 3,100 hospital beds for coronavirus patients – although why a lockdown had anything to do with that latter achievement is unclear – the Department of Health’s (DoH) own data strongly suggests that the entire exercise was a complete waste of time.
