Dear PAO,

My friend gave birth to a child while her husband was working as a seaman. She admitted to her husband her poor decision and she has cut ties with the father of her child as she claims it was just a “one-night stand.” She registered her child’s birth a few months ago with her husband’s knowledge. She was instructed in the civil registrar’s office that her husband’s name should be reflected in the child’s birth certificate. She says that she and her husband have been in good terms concerning the child, but she cannot help but worry that her husband may question the legitimacy of the child in the future. It has been causing her serious anxiety. Can her husband do that?
