VEHICLE sales in March grew by double digits year-on-year, but went down month-on-month due to the imposition of provisional safeguard duty and the stricter quarantine measures imposed in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

In a joint report on Tuesday, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (Campi) and the Truck Manufacturers Association, said automakers sold 20,702 units, up by 87.7 percent from 11,029 units a year earlier, but a 21.1-percent decline from the 26,230 units recorded in February.
