Legendary players and coaching

Save for a few exceptions, transcendent superstars rarely become all-time great coaches may it be in the National Basketball Association or its local counterpart and Asia’s first play-for-pay league, the Philippine Basketball Association.

In the NBA, Magic Johnson just didn’t pan out during his short stint on the sidelines of the Los Angeles Lakers. Perennial all-star Jason Kidd had relative success coaching the Brooklyn Nets and the Milwaukee Bucks but always clashed with owners and is now an assistant coach with the Purple and Gold.
