THE Employees Compensation Commission (ECC), an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE), has approved the inclusion of coronavirus disease-2019 (Covid 19) in its list of compensable occupational and work-related diseases.
The ECC, headed by Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello 3rd, in a resolution, granted the inclusion of Covid as a compensable illness following a study by the the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) that "Covid-19 can be work-related disease based on exposure and work."
