TO curb potential price manipulation in the country’s hog and poultry sectors, the Department of Agriculture (DA) said it is strengthening the traceability systems in the trading of pigs and chicken, including their meat and processed products.

To do this, Agriculture Secretary William Dar said the Agriculture department will establish a more robust and interconnected registration and accreditation process from the local government units (LGUs) to the concerned national agencies such as the DA’s Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) and the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS).
