Dear PAO,

I am leasing a bungalow house in a subdivision for two years now. Unfortunately, the drainage in the dirty kitchen is not working. The clogged drainage causes a puddle of water to form whenever we wash our clothes or, worst, flooding inside the house during the rainy season. I informed the lessor about our predicament. But until now, he has not hired anyone to fix it. I’m already worried about my family’s health and safety as we are susceptible to contracting dengue and leptospirosis. I am thinking of not paying rent to force my landlord to do the necessary repairs. Is my action correct?
