THE country’s trade deficit narrowed to its smallest level in four months last March as the value of imports surpassed exports, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported on Friday.

Preliminary data from the statistics agency showed that the value of inbound shipments surged by 16.6 percent year-on-year to $9.09 billion and outbound ones were up by 31.6 percent to $6.68 billion.
