IS ivermectin a real “wonder drug” from a human use perspective? Well, I am neither a doctor nor an epidemiologist. So I have neither the authority nor the knowledge to discuss its efficacy and effectivity in combating Covid-19. However, let me discuss other issues connected to it.

An article titled “Ivermectin, ‘Wonder drug’ from Japan: the human use perspective” was published in February 2011 in the Proceedings of the Japan Academy, Series B, Physical and Biological Sciences journal where it discussed in depth the events surrounding ivermectin’s passage from being a huge success in animal health into its widespread use in humans, a development which the authors credited to have led many to describe it as a “wonder drug.” Its introductory paragraph is worth reading:
