The psychology of denial

It is exactly 365 days from the May 9, 2022 general election, but it seems that some legislators are now doing their best in aid of reelection instead of legislation. Some reluctant presidential candidates are being urged to run while some continue to be in denial. Issues are hurled against the administration and the opposition, to the consternation of a nation ravaged by disease, joblessness and poverty. Protagonists attempt with much effort to communicate the right issues to the voting public, often with the use of rhetoric, polemics, interpretation, misdirection and sometimes denial.
