Retired Supreme Court justice Antonio Carpio, in a statement aired over DZMM Teleradyo on Monday, said the Philippines is now importing galunggong from China, which sources it from the West Philippine Sea.

Galunggong, according to the price monitoring of the Department of Agriculture (DA), now retails at P240 per kilo as of May 10, an increase from P200 a week ago.
