ALMOST on a daily basis, we read dire economic developments attributed to the ill effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The country's economic managers have expressed their concern that economic growth may be lower this year due to the continuing onslaught of Covid-19 in the more economically productive regions - the National Capital Region and the four adjacent provinces. The Development Budget Coordination Committee expects that the economic growth this year may be even lower than that of last year. Meaningful and significant growth in all sectors of the economy may only begin to happen in 2023 and 2024.
