On May 9, the breathtaking Rizal Boulevard of Negros Oriental's capital city, Dumaguete, was abuzz with local historians, culture vultures, and officials from Malacañang Palace to witness the unveiling of The Historical Marker of the Panilongon (Negros).

The milestone event was covered by government and social media including restaurateur Dahlia Amorganda Monaco, Silliman University alum and Caveat's local correspondent. This was an integral part of the Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines of the First Circumnavigation of the World.
