BAGUIO CITY: Local health authorities have raised concerns over a sudden increase in maternal mortality in the Summer Capital during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
City health officer Rowena Galpo on Friday said maternal mortality rates for the past years had been rising but a sudden jump from 45.19 percent in 2019 to 67.65 percent in 2020 was alarming and warrants implementation of timely interventions from health workers.
