A MAJORITY of adult Filipinos believe that violators of health protocols are the real cause of the current spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the country, a Social Weather Station (SWS) survey said.

The survey on 1,200 respondents from April 28 to May 2, 2021 said 79 percent blamed people who have not been following minimum health standards such as wearing of face masks and face shields, washing of hands and maintaining social distance for the Covid-19 surge that saw Metro Manila and nearby provinces return to strict lockdowns after restrictions had been eased.

The response was one of three choices for the participants who were asked what they thought was the real cause of the current spread of Covid-19 in the Philippines.
