Ideology 101

THERE is this patently incorrect understanding of ideology that simply offends me as one whose area in political science is political theory. Most people think that ideology only refers to the demonized leftist doctrine of communism and that to be ideological is to become a troublemaker, a destabilizer or worse, a terrorist.

Indeed, ideology is the factor that drives social movements that would like to fight for the rights of workers, women and the socially marginalized.
