The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as part of its investor education and information campaign, recently issued its monthly electronic publication called the SEConomics. This is in line with the Commission's initiative to provide its internal and external stakeholders with a regular briefer on the analysis of the markets and the impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic on the Philippine economy.

As a quick background, the monthly SEConomics provides brief insights about the Philippine economy, including global and regional economies, capital markets, and the corporate environment on a month-to-month, year-on-year, and/or year-to-date basis. It also covers the relevant national government, legislative and financial regulators' policy interventions. Going forward, the SEConomics will also feature highlights on company and securities registration.
