THE Philippines has contained the highly contagious polio disease almost two years after it resurfaced in 2019, the World Health Organization (WHO) said.
According to Dr. Rabindra Abeyasinghe, WHO country representative, the end of the polio outbreak in the country comes as the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic continues to pose challenges.
