DOMESTIC systemically important banks or D-SIBs are stable during the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, according to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), as these organizations continue to grow and are well-capitalized.
In a virtual briefing on Thursday, BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno said D-SIBs - characterized as banks whose distress or disorderly failure would cause significant disruptions to the wider financial system and economy - "remain on solid footing amid the pandemic."
