CAMP MELCHOR F DELA CRUZ, Upi, Gamu, Isabela: A former Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army (CPP-NPA) rebel surrendered two high caliber guns to the 77th Infantry Battalion (IB), the Army's Fifth Infantry Division (ID) said in its report on Saturday.
Maj. Gen. Laurence Mina, Fifth ID commander, said the former rebel whom he only identified as alias John-John, surrendered his M16 rifle and a US M1 carbine, which he used when he was still fighting for the communist movement.
