IN connection with HABI's ongoing online fair (shophabifair.com) in celebration of Independence Day, there are a number of talks that go along with the Filipino identity content beyond the clothes and the natural fibers that our indigenous fabrics are made of. (Recorded talks are available on the HABI Facebook page.)

HABI's mission/vision of preservation, development and modernization of our unique textile crafts presents these talks as a way of popularizing and supporting them - which brought HABI into launching an educational initiative that puts forward our history, our traditions, our governance and our values. HABI has so far published three books: A Journey Through Philippine Handwoven Textiles (edited by Rene Guatlo), Rara - The Art and Tradition of Mat Weaving by Elmer Nocheseda and Weaving Ways by Dr. Norma Respicio and Gayle Zialcita.
