Local government units (LGUs) that refuse to provide relocation or financial help to informal settler families (ISFs) affected by demolition face lawsuits, a ranking Urban Poor official said on Monday.
Alvin Feliciano, chairman and chief executive officer of the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP), said the agency is determined to bring to court any LGU found violating provisions of Republic Act (RA) 7279 otherwise known as the "Urban Development and Housing Act (UDHA) of 1992".
