A group of biodiesel stakeholders and advocates is pushing the government to implement the increase in the coco-biodiesel blend to 5 percent for all diesel fuel sold at the pumps to support farmers' livelihood amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

"There is a 5 centavos per liter lien contributed by every CME (coconut methyl ester) producer to the Department of Labor and Employment's Social Amelioration and Welfare Program. This funds the livelihood and training programs for coconut farmers and biodiesel workers," said the Philippine Biodiesel Association (TPBA) in a statement.
