BONGAO, TAWI-TAWI: The government of Indonesia, through its consul general in the Philippines, has recognized the commitment of officers and men of Joint Task Force (JTF) Tawi-Tawi in strengthening bilateral cooperation between Jakarta and Manila.

Indonesian Consul General Dicky Fabrian on Saturday personally awarded Certificate of Commendation to JTF commander Brig. Gen. Arturo Rojas for efforts of the task force in rescuing four Indonesian kidnap victims of the pro-Islamic State Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) last March 18 and 21 this year. According to Fabrian, the contribution of the Philippine Marines from the military unit exemplifies their dedication to the mutual interest of the two countries.
