Unlikely hoops heroes

In times of adversity, there will be unexpected heroes. There are young players who are suddenly given opportunities to shine. And there are those who are previously dismissed but are suddenly given a new lease on life.

Our young Gilas Cadets have found themselves representing the country in an elite men's basketball tournament. That definitely qualifies as adversity. We are witnessing these boys turning into men, and to me, it's a huge step forward for Philippine basketball.
