The Philippine peso experienced its worst performance in in a year after returning to the P49:$1 area on Thursday.
After opening at P48.90:$1, the local unit fell 31 centavos to P49.11:$1. It hasn't been this low since July 30 of last year, when it closed at P49.15 to $1.
