The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Thursday raised to Level 3 the alert status over Taal Volcano and recommended the evacuation of residents living near the volcano following a magmatic eruption on Thursday.
Renato Solidum, chief of Phivolcs, told The Manila Times that the alert level was raised because of its growing magmatic unrest.
