Arjo Atayde on the lessons of iWant's compelling socio-political series

"Yes po, it's finally on Netflix," boomed a deep yet gentle voice on the other end of a Viber call early this week. It was Arjo Atayde's - the young and gifted actor who made history for the Philippines in 2020 with his huge triumph at the Asian Academy Creative Awards for his riveting role as family man-turned-henchman in iWant's original socio-political series, "Bagman." It was the country's first-ever Best Actor win in the prestigious regional awards and truly an impressive one, what with the Philippine bet beating nine other established actors from China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singpore, Thailand and Taiwan.
