A Filipino doctor who is also an advocate for harm reduction said vaporizers (vapes) and heated tobacco products (HTPs) are less harmful than cigarettes, thereby reducing risks for 17 million Filipino smokers.

Dr. Lorenzo Mata Jr., president of advocacy group Quit for Good, an organization seeking awareness on the grave consequences of smoking tobacco, said during the Asia Harm Reduction Forum vapes and HTPs should not be taken off the shelves while harmful cigarettes remain easily accessible.
