ROME: Europe, the United States and other countries have made important progress in reducing the dramatic impact of Covid-19 in key sectors of the economy and population. However, in some parts of Africa, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East, the devastating effects of the pandemic continue to severely affect these sectors. One sector in particular, the food and agriculture sector, has been deeply impacted.

This was one of the issues discussed at the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation held last June 29 in Matera, Italy, within the framework of the Group of 20 (G20), under the Italian presidency. The topic of food sustainability was addressed at the meeting in view of the ongoing impacts of Covid-19.
