CYCLIST in Davao City are now assured of their own safe space while on the road as Department of Transportation (DoTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade opened the 54.744-kilometer bike lane network in the Mindanao city on July 20, 2021.

"These are dedicated and protected bicycle lanes. This means, cyclists don't have to struggle with their lane. You don't have to ply the roads in fear that you may accidentally be hit by any vehicle or motorcycle along the way. You don't have to ask permission from other motorists, either a vehicle or a motorcycle, to 'Please, please, please share the road,'" he said in Taglish during the virtual ceremony.
