THE Philippine National Police (PNP) enforced a seven-day gun ban in the National Capital Region (NCR) in view of President Rodrigo Duterte's State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday.
In a Memorandum dated July 16, 2021, PNP chief, Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, said the ban on the issuance of a Permit to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence (PTCFOR) in NCR started at 8 a.m. on July 21 and will last until 8 a.m. of July 2. This is part of security preparations for Duterte's final SONA and to ensure that the event will be free from gun-related incidents and protect the safety of the public.
