WHEN the faculty association in my university, of which I am the current president, took a historic vote to unionize, many asked why.
What would be the reason, when objectively my university is known to be one of the highest paying in the country? We already have robust faculty representation in almost all decision-making bodies except for the president's council and the board of trustees.
