Accountants as economic frontliners and heroes amid the pandemic

IN the early fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), we have identified our heroes. They are our medical and health care frontliners, our soldiers and enforcers, and they are our essential workers who keep the business of life going.

Are they the only heroes? There is a group that has been silently working to keep our economy afloat. This group is a welcome addition to the team of heroes working with the government and every business in the country, big or small. They are the accountants and we call them our economic frontliners.
