FILIPINO boxer Nesthy Petecio, who secured a podium finish at the Tokyo Olympics, joined Twitter on Thursday.
Petecio's first post was a selfie with the Olympic rings in the Japanese capital.
In a later tweet, Petcecio urged her fans to support her semifinal bout against Italy's Irma Testa on Saturday.
"July 31 po yung next fight ko," (My next fight is on July 31) she tweeted in her new handle, @nesthypetecio11. "Need your prayers po. Salamat po." (I need your prayers. Thank you.
She also admitted she was still adjusting to the social media platform.
Petecio defeated Marcelat Sakobi Matshu of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, top seed Lin Yu-Ting of Chinese Taipei, and Yeni Arias of Colombia to secure the Philippines' second medal of the Games, after Hidilyn Diaz gave the country's first gold medal in Olympic history on Monday.
