THE Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Thursday said there was no tsunami threat from the 8.2 magnitude earthquake that struck off the Alaskan peninsula late Wednesday.

In a tsunami information issued by Phivolcs, it said there is no threat to the Philippines from the earthquake.
