The journalist as a romantic

I was wondering what to watch last Sunday night. I decided to open up my Instagram and picked up musician and writer Niki Colet's IG Stories. She was watching a new Netflix movie called "The Last Letter from Your Lover" on her laptop. She captured the opening of the film which showed a Hemingway quote: "Why, darling, I don't live at all when I'm not with you." Katja Vujić of The Cut called this movie "a total yearn extravaganza."

The Last Letter from Your Lover tells two stories. The main one focuses a woman named Jenny Stirling (Shailene Woodley), married to wealthy businessman, Joe Stirling. A car accident leaves her with amnesia and a nagging sense that she doesn't belong with her husband. As she tries to piece together her past and her identity, she finds these old letters from someone named "Boot." Jenny's story plays out in the '60s and is wonderfully styled especially with the fashion and the make-up, noticeably the pale pink lips and the iconic Twiggy inspired eyelashes and eyeliner. Jenny seems to sport these perfect looking eyes even when she's bagong-gising (freshly woken up).
