THE National Economic and Development Authority said on Friday that the two-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) that will begin on August 6 in the National Capital Region (NCR) will cost the Philippine economy P120 billion and aggravate poverty.
"Each week of ECQ in NCR will cost the economy P105 billion. [It will] also increase poor people by up to 177,000 and 444,000 more without jobs," Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Karl Kendrick Chua told reporters.
