JERUSALEM: Israel launched on Sunday a campaign to give the third booster doses of Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine to people aged over 60 who received the second shot at least five months ago.

Israel's four state-mandated health service funds reported a high attendance rate on the first day of the rollout. Some 38,000 people were vaccinated on the first day and an additional 219,000 people made an appointment to receive the jab in the next few days, the funds said.
