YOUR news article "No quick solution for Mindoro power crisis" last July 21, 2021 was biased and poorly researched. The Manila Times should not have allowed Nikki de los Reyes to print and present the video without exhausting all efforts to get the side of the Occidental Mindoro Electric Cooperative (Omeco), the Department of Energy (DoE) and the National Electrification Administration (NEA). De los Reyes presented only the interview with the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), excluding important details, which could have easily been provided by Omeco, DoE or NEA. The DoE and NEA are the national agencies directly involved in monitoring the operations of electric cooperatives and all ongoing competitive selection processes (CSPs) being undertaken by any distribution utility.

This "sin of omission" by De los Reyes resulted in Omeco member consumers' loss of confidence in the management and its board of directors, and caused divisiveness among the cooperative's members in this time of crisis.
