SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union: Flooding will be a thing of the past once a P350-million dike is completed by the end of this month in Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Region 1.

The dike along the Sinocalan river passes through five barangay (villages) of Sta. Barbara will prevent soil erosion and water overflow, DPWH Regional Director Ronnel Tan said on Thursday in a report to Public Works Secretary Mark Villar, citing reports from Pangasinan Fourth District Engineering Office under District Engineer Simplicio Gonzales.
