Marina implements Equivalency on revalidation of COC

All Filipino seafarers whose job experiences have technical relevance to STCW can now file for revalidation or re-issuance of their Certificate of Competency (COC) as an equivalence to actual seagoing service requirements.

The Maritime Industry Authority (Marina), through its Advisory Number 2021-45, stated that it has recently adopted and implemented the "Equivalency on the Revalidation of Certificate of Competency for seafarers having performed functions considered to be equivalent to the seagoing service."
