THAT was from Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass, and it perfectly captures how I feel about Covid and ECQ. Or, less eloquently as many kids say when on a long road trip, "Are we there yet?" I have much respect for what OCTA Research is doing and its analysis and projections, which tend to predict what is likely to happen and alternatives with quite decent accuracy and timeliness. However, I really have contempt for their mutant version of Taglish in their press interviews. It is the equivalent of the Delta variant for communication. If they are going to repeatedly talk to the press, can they please speak in straight Tagalog or English or shift between straight Tagalog or English, or choose someone who can? This mangling of language is a monstrosity and lowers the bar for intelligent discourse. I can forgive it when they started as they may not have been experienced in speaking publicly. After repeated interviews and briefings, they have no excuse, especially being academics with standards to uphold.
