"I thought I was going to die!"

Flashbacks came rushing of childhood days when she thought age 60 is way too old and she didn't want to live past 60. But a reality check came just as quickly, that she did reach 60 already and how she prayed to be given the chance to see her 5-year old granddaughter Penelope grow up. And so she kept praying all through the more than three weeks of being home alone and down with COVID-19 in the earlier days of the pandemic in March last year. Hers was one of the worst cases. Her husband Ron, who stayed at the care home they own to avoid compromising the residents there, would drop off food for her every day and whatever else she needs, leaving them at the kitchen counter of their home.
